FIX Protocol Ltd. Announces Vendor Selection for Certification Program
February 10, 2004 - FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) has
announced the selection of certifiers for the FPL Sponsored
Certification Program. The selected vendors include Aegis Software
Inc., B2BITS, Javelin Technologies Inc., and TransactTools. In
addition, FPL has entered an agreement with Brook Path Partners
Inc., a consulting services firm focusing exclusively on investment
technology, to develop the fixed income certification test scripts.
FPL's Certification Program will focus on application layer testing
for fixed income based on FIX 4.4 specifications and will also
include session layer testing for FIX version 4.0 through 4.4.
Initially, the Certification Program will have a pilot period
for three to six months which will involve collecting industry
feedback both on the program and test scripts. Goals of the program
include: reducing the cost and effort to implement and use the FIX
protocol; promoting the quality and consistency of FIX
implementations; and streamlining the process of implementing new
FIX counterparty relationships.
