RegistrationInstructionsResponse (MsgType = p, FIXML = RgstInstrctnsRsp)

The Registration Instructions Response (p) message type may be used by broker or fund manager (for CIV) in response to a Registration Instructions (o) message submitted by an institution or retail intermediary for an order or for an allocation.

The Registration Instructions Response (p) message is used to:

  1. confirm the receipt of a Registration Instructions (o) message
  2. confirm changes to an existing RegistrationInstructions (o) message (i.e. accept cancel and replace requests)
  3. relay Registration Instructions (o) status information
  4. relay assigned client and account Ids for RegistrationInstructions (o) messages with RegistTransType (514) =New
  5. reject Registration Instructions (o) message

Each Registration Instructions Response (p) message containsa RegistStatus (506) field which is used to communicate thecurrent state of the Registration Instructions (o) as understood bythe broker or fund manager. The Registration Instruction statuses are as follows (inhighest to lowest precedence):
RegistStatus (506) Description
Accepted Registration details are acceptable to the receiving broker, intermediary or fundmanager. Assigned client and account Ids may be returned.
Rejected Registration details have been rejected by the receiving broker, intermediary orfund manager.
Held Registration details have been held by the receving broker, intermediary or fundmanager. Assigned (possibly provisional) client and account Ids may be returned.

Used to identify the source of the Account (1) code. This is especially useful if the account is a new account that the Respondent may not have setup yet in their system.

506 RegistStatus @RegStat Y

Registration status as returned by the broker or (for CIV) the fund manager:

507 RegistRejReasonCode @RejRsnCd N

Reason(s) why Registration Instructions has been rejected.

The reason may be further amplified in the RegistRejReasonCode field.

Possible values of reason code include:

496 RegistRejReasonText @RejRsnTxt N

Text indicating reason(s) why a Registration Instruction has been rejected.
